Ledlenser Possum Night Trail Run – Taupō 2022

Back to celebrate the shortest day and the longest night, The Possum Night Trail Run, is on Saturday 11th June 2022, based at Wairakei Resort, Taupō.

The Possum entries sold out this year at just over 1600 entrants with many families, and the more serious athletes, joining the fun and challenge of participating in the dark. The Possum is New Zealand’s favourite night trail running festival made special with the lighting effects and adrenaline pumping music out on the course.

‘We love this event. Everyone participates and gets into the spirit by dressing up and making the most of the night and the steam around the course. Ledlenser continue to be our naming rights sponsor. They are the perfect partner for a night run helping us light up the night, ‘ says Nick Reader.

Ledlenser lights are a technological sensation. Designed in Germany, they have revolutionised personal lighting with their incredible brightness, range and burn time. Ledlenser work tirelessly to further develop their technological edge. They are a perfect fit for a night time event and are excited to be a part of The Possum Night Trail Run.

Whether you run or walk 5km, 12km or 21km the landscape and event are unique. The Craters of the Moon geothermal walkway is a real treat where participants get to run or walk through a geothermal wonderland. The Ledlenser Possum Night Trail Run is proud to be supporting Kids Greening Taupo again this year. This year the event raised $2575 for this great organisation making a difference to local kids and the community.

The best event experience combines participating in the event with staying at the historic Wairakei Resort Taupō, the heart of the event, as well as the start and finish line for all distances. The Wairakei Resort has plenty to offer participants.

Event Elements is excited to have this on the events calendar again
