Ultraviolet light scrambles the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and parasitic protozoa. UV light has been used to purify tap water or clear water in municipal water treatment facilities, hospitals and bottled-water plants for over 60 years. Used as directed, SteriPEN™ meets EPA Protocol for Water Purifiers.
Steripen Classic, Ultra, Ultralight, Adventure Opti and Aqua are an environmentally friendly alternative to bottled water. They destroy viruses, bacteria and protozoa - including Giardia and Cryptosporidium - in just 48 seconds. Globally people rely on Steripen's portable UV water purifiers and appreciate their efficiency and reliability.

Easy to use
Just one button does it all. In order to use Steripen’s UV light, all you need to do is to stir clear water with it, 48 seconds for 0.5L or 90 seconds for 1.0L. Wide-neck bottles are recommended for this process.
The lightest being the Ultralight at 76g whilst the Adventurer is less than 225g with batteries, and is lighter than pump filters.
It is 160 times faster than chemicals, (90 seconds for 1L while chemicals can take up to 4 hours).
Steripen products don’t require cleaning and are battery operated, which means no pumping. They work for up to 8,000 doses per UV lamp and the automatic dose counter indicates when the lamp needs to be replaced.
Fits most containers: cups, mugs, water bottles and canteens.
On-board microcomputer controls lamp activation, dose delivery and water sensor.
