Adds Durable Water Repellency (DWR), increases fabric strength and protects against UV deterioration; one application can double the effective life of fabrics. Can be applied to wet or dry synthetic fabrics.

Great for waterproofing and improving UV protection on: Tents, packs, panniers, awnings, and more. Uses per bottle: Approximately 50ml required per 1m² of fabric.

Product Information:

Ultraviolet (UV) light and dirt are the two most significant sources of damage to tents. UV light attacks the fabric, reducing strength and causing fading. Dirt interferes with the water repellency of the tent, causing the fabric to absorb water.
Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash® A water-based cleaning spray for tents and other outdoor equipment that protects against UV degradation whilst removing dirt. Unlike normal detergents, Nikwax’s Tent & Gear SolarWash does not leave behind residue that damages water repellency.
Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® Water-based, non-flammable, and free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and fluorocarbons, it is safe and reliable.
Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® provides Durable Water Repellency (DWR) and ultraviolet (UV) protection. Unlike solvent-based products which need to be applied to dry materials, Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® can be applied to wet or dry fabrics. There is no need to wait if your equipment is wet before you treat it with Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof®.
To most effectively benefit from the ultraviolet (UV) and Durable Water Repellent (DWR) protection of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® it is best applied to equipment from new.
During use the equipment fabric will pick up dirt and other contaminants which inhibit water from beading on the fabric surface.
With use over time, the DWR will wear off. Both the DWR and UV protection can be replenished by reapplication of Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof®.

How to Use:

Nikwax’s Tent & Gear SolarWash®	Erect the tent OR protect the working surface and lay the item flat.
	Spray evenly to the outside of the fabric. For large items apply in sections.
	Rub in well with a damp cloth/sponge, paying attention to particularly dirty areas.
	Use a soft nylon brush if necessary to remove stubborn stains.
	Rinse with clean water using a cloth or sponge.
	Drying: Item(s) should be air-dried. Allow item(s) to fully dry before packing away. *Marks may appear on fabric if excess product is not wiped away. Test on a hidden area first. Use approximately 50ml of product per 1m2 of fabric.
	The coverage is approximate and depends on the condition of the fabric being treated.
Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof®	For best results always clean item(s) first. No need to dry item(s) before waterproofing.
	Protect the working surface and lay clean wet item flat, or erect the tent and wet.
	Spray evenly to the outside of the fabric. Avoid rucksack straps.
	Wait for 2 minutes. Remove any surplus product with a damp cloth.
	Check carefully to ensure no areas have been missed.
	After several minutes check for and remove surplus product with a damp cloth*.
	*Marks may appear on fabric if excess product is not wiped away. Test on a hidden area first. Use approximately 50ml of product per 1m2 of fabric.
	The coverage is approximate and depends on the condition of the fabric being treated. To maintain waterproofing always clean with Nikwax SolarWash. Do not use detergents.
	To waterproof cotton, polycotton or canvas use Nikwax Cotton Proof™.
