Knives and Sharpeners
The innovation & quality of Spyderco knives has been recognised with them winning awards at numerous knife shows. Examples of Spyderco innovations are their trademark round hole that facilitates easy one handed opening & the carry clips on the knife handles.
Today, Spyderco continue to challenge the boundaries of knife design as they practice Constant Quality Improvement. An example of this is their use of the new H-1 steel in their Salt Series of knives. Introduced recently by a Japanese foundry, H-1 is a precipitation hardened steel that has 0.1% nitrogen (acts like carbon in the steel matrix without rusting like carbon alloys do).
This gives H-1 steel the uniqueness of being RUST FREE yet also capable of holding sharpened cutting edges comparable to those of the premium knife steels being used by most knife manufacturers.
